How To Draw Saber Tooth Tiger
When drawing these prehistoric felines – saber molar tigers… it's fun to get unique with our arroyo. You lot can add together stripes if you like… or you can come with some other sort of pattern.
The key features of course – those long incisors! (fangs) – are a must to convince someone of what your cartoon is.
Let'southward go started then…
How to Describe a Saber Tooth Tigers
Keeping things cartoony and fun, let'due south begin the lesson with a crude 'shape outline' of the various parts of our true cat. Saber tooth tigers – will of course – resemble other cats we know of… lions, jaguars, cheetahs. So getting a close likeness to one of these – is important in the beginning.
Let's brainstorm and then – starting with the framework…
A few more lines, and we've got our cat in a uncomplicated walking/standing pose…
OK – allow's begin placing our lines then. Eyes, muzzle and fangs – become ahead and depict them similar to this…
Bring the rest of your cat'south face up into view – get creative… little twists and turns, tufts of pilus… see what you can do!
The white stripe of fur around the jaw area gives this cat more of that 'tiger' sort of look…
At present it's downwards to the legs. Detect the randomness in my lines – keeping the structure in heed, you tin can feel comfortable existence artistic without deviating TOO MUCH – so information technology notwithstanding looks similar what yous're drawing…
Down to the paws/claws – I would imagine saber tooth tigers take sharp ones!
And next upwardly, depict the arcing lower body line – apply the shapes to help guide you along. And too… experiment with different heights and curves. Information technology'll alter the look of your cat altogether.
Almost washed! The arc forth the dorsum of your tiger should be drawn to show some bulk up front. These cats are strong – with big shoulders… the right direction of your curve will help illustrate this.
Detailed with stripes – your saber tooth tiger takes on an entirely new (and neat-looking) wait. Did they actually await annihilation like this? Possibly! Here though – information technology's all about being creative… and that's exactly the path we took. 🙂
Hither's what information technology looks like colored. A gradient and stroke ever helps to enhance the final look of your cartoons…
So so, that's all there is to this lesson – I hope y'all enjoyed information technology. This was of course one of the 'You lot Decide' lessons. The other 2 options were 'Giant Ground Sloth' and 'Wooly Mammoth'… we'll have to tackle one of these 2 (or both) – some time down the road.
Another lesson coming soon!! 🙂
